Don't Be Misled By This - Hand Lawn Edger Critique

by Samantha Cook

I had intended to do just the sidewalk, but after I was done I was looking for other areas to edge. Since you really don't need to edge every time you mow, I didn't want to buy a gas edger.

I live in Texas, and we have tough clay soil. I have not edged my yard ever, and have lived in my house for almost a year.

I love this new edger! It was easy to put together and easy to use. Overall a good product and a good warranty. It's a good option to consider when purchasing your new edger. You won't get a fine cut. It doesn't have enough power too, going for return to HD. This machine tackles the tough Bermuda grass without a hiccup. Plenty of power at much less cost than gasoline models.

However, my husband insists on a gas edger at 4 times the price, so I gave it to a friend as a gift. I bought a second one for my father-in-law and he loves it.

The new one clogs up and strains to get the job done. What a piece of garbage!

I tell you I swear a lot when using this thing. Not worth 80 bucks.

First of all, I have never done edging on my lawn. It didn't take me more than 3 minutes to figure out how good this edger works. You simply let it do its job literally. Some reviewers questioned the power of this edger. I find it to be great....but feel that this may be unfair since I live in Florida and have soft sand for soil. It is easy to assemble. Quiet, powerful, lightweight and easy to use. I have left 5 messages and e-mailed them concerning their policy on returning items, they haven't bothered to return my mail or calls. Great for edging sidewalks. Provides a clean crisp look to the yard.

Great doing straight edges but cumbersome when attempting to do curved edges where a stringed edger is so much easier. I bought one of these units many years ago and it lasted a good long time, probably 10 years, and I have quite a bit of sidewalk and driveway to edge.
