7 Porticos is inspired by the design of traditional neighborhoods. These neighborhoods, distinguished by sidewalks, ornamental fences, and porches, were centered around friends, neighbors, and families.

Its unique name is derived from the seven historic periods in Texas Architecture; beginning with the Spanish Colonial Villas, and ending with the Arts & Crafts Movement that swept the nation. These were the seven distinct architectural influences that forged historical Texas towns.

These styles, and the unifying feature of a front porch (portico), define the character of a calmer way of life. Porches evoke memories of family gatherings, a place to play on rainy days, and a comfortable way to connect with neighbors.
